all city nature boy

All-city_Natureboy-PINP-thumbThe Nature Boy is the single speed cross racing monster from All-City.  It was named after a Minnesota professional wrestling legend and carries all of the AC hallmarks that you’ve come to love: straight blade fork, classic paint, custom dropouts, and signature headbadge.  It was designed primarily as a race rig, but since we knew that many of you out there would be using this thing for every day life, we built in additional features to make it more versatile.

You’ll find hidden fender mounts, two sets of bottle bosses (reinforced of course), removeable canti studs, fat tire clearance, and a steel fork that is easily swapped for a carbon model should you want to lighten up for race season.

Race the crap out of it, ride singletrack, gravel, or commute until your heart’s content.

Let’s talk about downhill bikes….

rocky-mountain-flatline-pro-2010-mountain-bikeSo, this summer has been great for riding big bikes, however, you have to escape the valley and run to the pines to cool off. Sunrise ski resort has been one of my favorites this year cause you don’t have to worry about running a shuttle and taking turns driving. Load your bike on a high speed quad and enjoy the ride up, this way, you get to ride with everyone and you can hop back on the chair instead of waiting for slower riders to get down. The trails are great this year thanks to a handful of riders going up early and doing a little grooming before the chair opens. Labor day weekend is the last time they will be open for the year, so if you can make it up, do it, you won’t be sorry.

Before the weather gets cool in phoenix, just want to tell everyone about the smoking deal we have on a 2010 Rocky Mountain flatline pro. First off, I have been riding this bike(little different parts kit) this season and cant say enough good things about this bike. It rails in corners, very predictable in the air, and loves to go fast. The bike retails for $3999 all though, we are putting a price tag of 3499 on this downhill weapon. This bike weighs in at 39.5 lbs!!! It is super fast, and looking for aq good home. Come by or call us at the shop for additional info on this awsome deal.

2011 Salsa el mariachi

mariachiThe latest Mexican dish from the boys at Salsa should really stir up Sherif Joe’s bonnet …..the steel Salsa El Mariachi! New dropouts and proven geometry make us say ” Mas cerveza por favor”. Ok, we actually don’t need an excuse to say that. $599 for one of these beauties and you’ll be shouting ” Ole!” all the way down the trail.

The El Mariachi has garnered rave reviews since it was first introduced in 2007. It’s proven geometry and premium ride quality have inspired new devotees to the 29’er movement.

Now featuring our Alternator dropout, the El Mariachi remains capable of both geared and singlespeed setups. The Alternator makes proper chain tensioning a snap while allowing hassle free quick-release wheel removal.

Our new Kung Fu tubing dramatically increases frame strength while preserving low weight and a killer ride quality.

Use the El Mariachi for your hardtail trail biking needs and local trail thrashing sessions. Consider adding our Enabler fork for more remote backcountry bikepacking adventures.

El Mariachi. If you wanna dance, you gotta pay the band.

2011 salsa ala carte

alacarteRage Cycles is happy to announce the birth….oh, no that’s not it. We did ,however, receive the next in Salsa’s lineup of 2011 frames. The picture doesn’t do it justice…this frame is cool beyond words, and at $599 it will be cool on your wallet too!

A veritable legend of the mountain bike world, the Ala Carte has proven itself for over 20 years.

The classic 26-inch wheeled steel frame is now capable of geared or singlespeed use, thanks to the new Alternator dropout design. The Alternator makes proper chain tensioning a snap while allowing hassle free quick-release wheel removal.

Our new Kung Fu tubing increases frame strength to new levels while maintaining low weight and ride quality.

The Ala Carte is nimble, but not twitchy, and both climbs and descends with aplomb. Use it for backcountry exploration and all-day trail rides, or for a few hours of singletrack success with your local crew.

Ala Carte. Best thing on the menu.

LDC

Get ready to roll! This year will be our first annual labor day weekend cruiser ride. That’s right, Sunday, Sept 5th at 8pm, we will be meeting at the shop and leaving at 8:45. As always ,if you drive, please park across the street at Albertsons. Don’t forget to bring your lights . We will have a few beverages to offer before we depart, but feel free to bring your own while we wait for the usual last minute slackers (you know who you are). Stops will be decided as we go along but will stick to the south Scottsdale corridor. As always, the last stop is TT Roadhouse for those that survive that long. We look forward to seeing the regulars and some new faces as well. Just a reminder,if you don’t make it to this ride, make sure you don’t miss out on the Halloween Massacre Ride.Details will be posted at the beginning of October.

2010 Black Market Killswitch in da house!!!!

IMG_1020 The rumors are true, Black market bicycles made a full suspension frame called the killswitch. We got two of these bad boys to build up for some local riders, and both of them are stoked!!! Big thanks to Mondo over @ BM for working with us on getting these sweet frames that are in high demand. The killswitch is a 4 inch travel frame, that comes with a customed valved xfusion shock, seat collar, and headset for $1399. The one in the pic has a fox 831 that matches very well with the rear, profile cranks, hope/mavic wheels, saint brakes, and set up single speed. If I was building it up for myself, it would pretty much be the same. The guys  who had us build these (Manny and Scott) were nice enough to let us rip these steeds around the pumptrack. First ride around the track the bike feels so predictable, It rails in the burms, jumps very easy, and just feels like a solid whip. I can only imagine how nice this bike will execute the big jumps.  If anyone is interested Let us know, and we can try to obtain one of these super radical frames for you. The two guys that got these from us are way better riders since they got them, have gotten much better looking, and much more popular with the ladies. So, think about that for a while…..
